The basics

Echo is a ramp playstyle. It is based around casting as many echoes as possible via manual casts and reso on different group members and then consuming all of them with another spell depending on the situation

As of season 4, thanks to our tierset bonus timeb the best spell to consume our echoes with is rev. The only exception to this would be situations in which you need to do heavy burst healing in which you would instead consume them with ve and then use strong single target healing like sb or lfs empowered by coy and lifespark to heal yourself and transfer it via lb. The rest of the time, simply generating as many echoes as possible and using rev is the most optimal way to do it.

lb

An ever present part of the echo playstyle is lb, this is because any single target healing you can do can be transfered to a lot of people via lb. The most common discussion is around echoing sb directly or using it into lb.

Basically, if you have several echoes spread around the group and then use sb, you would consume those echoes with the sb. You can instead of this use ve on yourself to heal everyone with ve, trigger lb on them, and then heal yourself with sb so part of it gets transfered via the lb

Which of these two scenarios results in more healing depends on a lot of factors, part of it is the current tunning of ve and sb and how long the damage window of whatever you are trying to heal is, as echoing sb is a single big hit, while lbing can spread it over the five seconds it lasts.

On top of that, you can use any other healing on yourself you can think of to send even more healing into the lb, like a witheringdreams or rb or even just lf. But the biggest single target heal we have avaliable to send into lb is ec, and this is one of our strongest healing cooldowns, which blossom builds don't have access to.

stasis

Optimal use of stasis is probably one of the hardest part of playing echo builds. The best way to understand how it works is to not overthink it: stasis simply gives you an extra cast of three spells, as such you want to use the three strongest spells you want. This are db, sb and ta. The order matters less than using the right spells, as even a bad cast of say sb is still way stronger than an extra rev

When going a bit more in depth into it, you do consider the order of the spells a tiny bit and also what you cast before and right after it. For example, if you have a db inside your stasis you would want to use ve before releasing it, as the db inside the stasis would benefit from the coy.

On the oposite side, if the last spell inside your stasis is ta, then releasing it will leave you with 5 echoes in the group. If you add another ta cast right after and some manual echo casts you can easily have 13 or 15 people covered in echoes for you to burst heal the whole raid.

echo, ta and carrier effects

echo is a complicated spell, as almost every other spell in our kit interacts with it and has it's own set of rules.

  • lf healing will scale with the power of the echo, but every flame has its own full chance to proc burst.
  • coy does not echo, only the actual hard-cast spells (either db or lf) benefits from coy, not any echos of them.
  • gh and lb are both reduced by the power of the echo.
  • If an blossom consumes an echo, the person with the echo will be healed as one extra target of the blossom. This is a really low amount and should be avoided.
  • rescue, caut and nat do not interact with echo in any way.
I heavily recommend reading the spell interactions page for more information about echo interactions.
